Virtual Coach User Instructions
Choosing a
Program
Once you
register with MAAM, you will be asked to complete an application describing your fitness
history, goals and general concerns. We will then help guide you to an appropriate program
and sign you up to begin on the following Sunday. Please email us at maamteam@aol.com if
you have not received this application.
Members
Area
The Member's Area is a springboard
to MAAMs Virtual Coach, bulletin boards and training programs. You need to be a
registered member to access this area. Click on Member Login from MAAMs home page. You will need to log
in each time you wish to access the Virtual Coach.
Program Info
You can
preview selected programs by clicking on Program Info
on Members Area page. Keep in mind that we can customize any program to meet your
needs. Do not be intimidated by our marathon programs (but never say never!)
Sign-up / Access
MAAM will sign
you up for a program, however if you are comfortable choosing a program on your own,
simply click on Sign-up from the Members Area
page and follow the instructions. Access your training plan daily by clicking on launch coach from the Members Area page.
The Virtual Coach Interface
From the Members
Area page click on launch coach to open the coach
window. The Virtual Coach has 4 main sections, navigated by the links at the left of this
window.
Running Program
Click on running program to view your program for the week. You can
preview your program up to 2 weeks in advance by clicking on next
week. To view your complete mileage table click on Program
Info, then on Program 1, 2, 3 etc
on
sub-menu.
You can review
your program one week at a time by clicking on last week.
You can conveniently print your program for the week by clicking on Print/ View this text in a separate box.
If you are
pursuing a time goal, your coach can add pace specific additions to your program upon
request. Please contact maamteam@aol.com to request
this inclusion.
Daily Insight
Click on daily insight to receive an educational tidbit on topics such
as running technique and maternal health, or an inspirational quote to get you out the
door and through the day. Insights can not be previewed but can be reviewed one day at a
time by clicking on yesterday.
Running Log
Click on running log to record your daily training activity and to
communicate with a live coach who monitors you throughout your program. If you
have a training related question, your response will appear in a coachs comment box
within 24 hours. For questions which are not training related, or trainingrelated
questions that require urgent attention, please send an email to maamteam@aol.com.
Calendar
Click on calendar to view the New York City team training schedule. Click on any
calendar date to see whats happening that day, and click on ? to scroll to the next month. If you live
outside New York City the calendar will not appear on your
interface but can be accessed by clicking on training calendar
listed below quick links on MAAMs home page.
Bulletin Boards
Click on Bulletin Board to access MAAM bulletin boards. Browse
anonymously or register to participate by clicking on Register
in upper right corner of bulletin board page. Click on FAQ
on sub menu for complete user instructions.
Starting, Ending and Adjusting Your Program
MAAM will
kick-start your program unless you prefer to sign-up without our assistance. You can end your program at any time by clicking on End Program on the Members Area page. You can also
adjust your program by clicking on jump forward or fall back, however we recommend contacting your coach before
making this type of decision. Running logs from past programs are automatically archived
for future reference and can be accessed by clicking on Past
Running Logs from Members Area home page.
