MAAM MEMBER PROFILE Jennifer Lemaigre: "I'm over 40 and I just ran my first half-marathon with thousands of other women well over 40!" |
MAAM offers goal-based running and walking programs for mothers of all fitness levels. We encourage mothers with no prior exercise history to join our warm and supportive environment. Setting a goal is at the heart of what makes our programs work. We believe that wthout goals, you may never know your potential. We don't expect you to have a goal in mind. One of the highlights of becoming a MAAM member is a private consultation with a coach to determine a goal that's right for you. Losing pregnancy weight, learning to run a mile, or crossing a finish line with a family member are a few examples of goals our members have achieved. A MAAM goal isn't about how far or fast you can run (or walk) - it's a symbol of what you can achieve if you put your mind to it. Working towards a physical goal is a powerful way to build the confidence you need to believe in yourself. At MAAM, we see your goal as our mission.
From 0 to 26.2 - Choose Your Distance! MAAM offers a variety of core programs that provide a base for customized training plans of any length, distance or level. Our marathon programs are particularly popular and so far we've succeeded in getting everyone we've trained across the finish line! The New York City Marathon is a favorite and we always have a good crowd training for it. If you're thinking about running NYC or any other marathon, whether your first or your last, just give us a call to find out more. MAAM programs can be viewed by registered members only, however we're happy to provide you with details upon request.
How are MAAM programs different from other training programs? MAAM is the only organization we know of to develop running programs just for mothers offering:
About MAAM's New York City Coach Charlotte Gould, founder and director of Mothers Across America, coaches New York City's MAAM team.
